What is Ceviche?
Well.....its origins can be traced to the coastal regions of South America almost 2000 years ago. Modern day ceviche is believed to have been created after Spanish settlers brought citrus fruits to the region and Japanese immigrants infused their techniques and flavors. At its core, it is fresh seafood that is "cold cooked" in a marinade of citrus juices, spices, chilies, red onion & cilantro.
Friends/entrepreneurs/restaurateurs Reina Laws & Lindsay Goldstein created Cevich while working on projects in Miami Beach. Together they blended New York style with traditional South American flavors and built a laid back, beach in the city vibe at their first store in Union Square.
